Inspired by Francois Bayle’s Acousmonium from 1973, the 'Loudspeaker Orchestra' seeks to investigate spatialized sound to create an expressive listening experience. The project is performed through an 8-channel loudspeaker orchestra, which was designed for the project and at the same time was used to shape the compositions.
In terms of sound, the project investigates the meeting between acoustic instruments and digital processing, in order to create sounds that exist between a digital and physical realm. The project seeks to convey these recognizable, but unreal, sounds, and the emotions connected to them - as well as engaging listening experience can be activated by using
multichannel audio to create choreographies of sound.
